Is there one of these?

try to follow me I've been drinkin.

A chorus pedal, with an fx lvl. And then a ring mod on that chorus, with its own fx lvl.

So you can dial in a nice chourus, and then a little bit of odd sparkle on top of it.

If there isn't I'm building one. If there is... let me know cause I want this.

...........

Two quick questions, and then an observation.

What kind of chorus pedal would you want it to sound like, an old Boss, a modern boutique, something else?

What kind of ring mod would you want the ring mod in this unit to be like?

Now, imagine all those variations upon just those two effects you asked for. Quite a lot of possibilities, no?

Most people would rather buy two units, each of which does *exactly* what they're looking for, than to buy a unit which might do one or the other suboptimally from their point of view.

Oh yeah agreed. But I was thinking more as blend a chorus in say 50/50 with the dry signal. Then on the chorus blend a ring modulation say 25% of the chorus signal. So the dry signal is still there, and since a chorus modulates have the ring mod work off just the chorus signal making a possibly weird ambient effect.

That is a *very* unique idea, and even more specialized than anything I've seen available.

For somethig so unique, though, you might consider instead doing this with a recording and seeing what it sounds like, instead of wiring something up. Record your dry pass, then output that pass through a chorus at 100% wet, then reord that pass through a ring mod at 100% wet, and then see if you can find some level settings which come close to what you want. You could even do all three at once, if you have a couple of stereo sends/returns (assuming that you'll be running dual ring mods, to really capture the differences in pitch at the two outputs of a good stereo chorus). If you do find the weird ambient sound you're looking for, then you could start moving forward with designing and building.

Be sure to post clips when you get it built!

I agree that most people would use 2 pedals.

But have you watched the demo for the Ring Thing.

there are some far-prettier-than-most ring mod sounds available, maybe you could get something similar to what your speaking of.

another idea would be to run a stereo chorus, w a ring mod on just one side after the chorus, if you no what I saying.

I guess you'd be losing your dry tone though.

The ring thing is pretty cool. Im going to try giving that recording thing a shot. But I am probably just going to go ahead and build it. Cause I'm stupid like that lol. When its up and running I will put some samples up, even if it turns out horribly. Which it may just. That and me thinks I'm going to just start combining odd effects and see what happens.

I look forward to the results.

I love my TC Electonics Chorus/Flange (also Pitch mod) and it has a parallel blend

Harkening back to your original post, I hope you're sober when you plan and build this....
