Convince me to buy or not buy a Fuzz Factory

I love fuzz, I have a Sunface with TI/UK Transistors, and a Little Big Muff. How do Fuzz Factorys react with a Vox AC15ccx1? I know they are crazy and they get some crazy tones. How do they sound with a wah? I have a Teese wah so they go good w/ fuzz already. Anyways, for fuzz I love Hendrix, Marc Ford, ZZ Top, the Black Keys, the Stooges and Mudhoney... Can this cover all that?

Convince me to buy or not buy one tomorrow. Money is tight but I'm gassing again.

The Fuzz factory is cool but def needs a lot of tweaking. I sold mine and got a fuzz god II. I think it's more usuable and versatile. I really would like to pick up a Blackout Effector Twosome.

My good mate has the almost same setup as yours, VOX AC15, FUZZ FACTORY, SUNFACE NKT HI GAIN and some fuzz pedals. He plays FENDER and GIBSON.
We have tried a dozens times, we like the SUNFACE and the DAM/COLOR SOUND MKII best, they sounds so much better than his hand-paint FUZZ FACTORY.

I used a Fuzz Probe w/my AC15C1 and it sounded great.
The biggest thing that the FF has going for it is versatility.
You can go from a mild and choked velcro-y stutter to a glorious oscillation and feedback driven scream.
The tone and volume knobs of your guitar also play a big part in how the FF reacts to you...
What I would recommend is getting it and looking up a list of settings to try out and start with, and then start exploring from there.
Although I returned my Fuzz Probe because of financial reasons, I cannot wait to pick up another FF.

The fuzzfactory has one sound and its a bad one. Its fun at first but eventually you realize its only a gimmick and not something that useful. All the knob tweaking really does not offer many different useable fuzztones. Seriously a bad pedal imo.

Honestly speaking I don't like the Fuzz Factory with my Night Train set to Bright mode (sounds similar to an AC).

It is a very good pedal, once you master it it's THE Jack-of-all-trades and Master of some lol.

I got one but returned it because I couldn't tame it.

I'm going to give it another go in the future.

What Sunsetamps said! Exactly! I tried one out and it took me 10 minutes before I got bored with it! Too much money for just a gimmick pedal. Just my 2 cents.

I have one it's pretty cool. I run it into my AC15C1 and once you tweak it a bit it sounds good

Maybe you're using it through a bright amp or something man. The FF has many usable settings, and really kills for that big wall of sound and searing lead tones. It was able to nail the tone that has always been in my head lol.

Huh? I've nvdr found a fuzz pedal that has as varied a range of fuzz sounds - from sane to demented.

Ah well, different strokes...

Spend time looking for the right one. I spent about two years playing dozens of them until I found "the one." Mine is warmer and just a touch milder than the typical ones.

Try, also, to play older models. The more modern ones often seem harsher. This is probably because Vex goes through germaniums in batches, some better than others. Germanium transistors vary from unit to unit, so one might sound great and the next not so great.

So, I adore my Fuzz Factory, but I have played some real dogs too. I can't recommend the FF enough but, like everyone has said, it is a tweeker for sure.

i don't think it's a BAD pedal at all -- it's a lot of fun, and makes some really unusual noises.

ten years ago, it was the only game in town for those sort of wild fuzztones. but these days there are MANY more options.

my fave for the $$$ is the Fuzzhugger AB-synth -- that's a great pedal, and you can get a handbuilt USA model for around $125 new.

With five knobs, you would think there would be a lot of different tones available, but in all honesty there are probably really only 3 or 4 distinctively different fuzz sounds in there. That's more than most fuzzboxes, but the problem is that those sounds are pretty brittle and harsh.

I have heard one guy make it sound good in a noise/punk context, so you might like it for Stooges/Mudhoney sounds. It's going to sound brighter than either of those bands though.
