Guitar envy......
My trio has suddenly turned into a quintet. I figure since there is no money to be had - I might as well enjoy myself while I'm playing for pennies.
So the new guitarist in my band brought his '54 Gold Top to rehearsal today...... What a funky cool old guitar! P90 heaven - I could not stop playing the damn thing. Last week he brought his '63 Stratocaster. Ok, so we're guys in our 50's and have been playing forever - these things were around to be had when we were young. But numbskull that I am, I sold more vintage guitars and amps than I kept. He's bringing his '65 Strat next week. Nice guy/great player. I've known of him for ages, but never really knew him. Sat in with his gig a couple years ago and he was playing a partscaster. He says he has made a vow to start playing his collection live with this endeavor. I was afraid to ask what else he had stashed away. What is an old Les Paul like that worth? 20 to 30k? Jeepers, I am jealous of his guitar stash...........

Amazing guitars - cool that you get to play them a bit too. Hope he keeps a sharp eye on them at gigs!

Don't have envy. Be glad you don't have to deal with the expense, headaches, worries and babysitting that come with those guitars.
