Talking Tele Chicken' Pickin' & a new Camera....

Spent an hour monkeying with the new digital video camera, and thought I would do something semi-constructive with it.
Here's some random Tele Picken' musings to try out the new camera......

Using a Highway 1 Tele + Dr. Z MAZ 18 Jr. NR 2X10 Combo.

NOTE: This is an MP4 movie file so MAC users will probably have to download the link before you can play it. (otherwise it shows up as crazy text) For some reason macs also append the file name with a .txt, so you'll have to remove that if necessary. PC users should have no troubles.

Anyway, here it is...

Cheers,

Shawn

Nice job!

I was going to ask if I could drive up to Nashville and take a lesson or two from you, then I saw you lived in Canada

You're right on. It's my setup I use 99% of the time. Here's the lineup:

2003 Stock Highway 1 Telecaster --> Boss CS-3 --> Dan-Echo Delay --> Dr. Z High Gain input.

That's it. Simple and sweet.

Unfortunately, due to the camera recording the tone doesn't really properly come across. There's nothing quite like standing in front of the amp live!

Cheers,

Shawn

The tone came across good. You should post this clip on the Dr Z forum:

Madison! I was always wondering if there was a Dr. Z discussion board.
I had searched before for one and turned up nothing.

Thanks for the link !

Hey thanks guys - even though a lot of what I played on there is just re-hashed Brent Mason stuff. I just played bits and pieces of whatever happened to snap in my mind after I hit the record button.

I spent much more frustrating time trying to figure out how to use iMovie!! Talk about inept with movie making!

Matt, to answer your question - I just use a Boss CS-3 Compressor. I also use a Danelectro Dan-Echo delay, set to single slap. I've never been overly esoteric with effects and such - it's bone stock, off the shelf, run of the mill equipment.

Cheers,

Shawn
