Something similar to 65 amp Monterey

been looking at some 65 amps recently and im really digging the monterey but not the price tag. What something that would be in the ball park, i know its got quiet a few unique features but lets hear some options

That's a tough one. I've never been able to peg exactly what that amp is trying to do. It has an EF86 in the preamp. That's going to give a pretty unique tone. You can find that in some Dr Zs, some Voxs, the Gabriel amps, and some others.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should be looking at EF86 preamps.
Of course, those are also using 6v6s in the power section.
It's going to be difficult to find anything with that configuration that isn't that amp, as far as I know.
