Question Need amp advice! Sweetest sounding clean channel amp under $700 used?

Hi all... Looking for recommendations on amplifiers meeting the following requirements:

- SUPER sweet sounding clean channel. (Fender Blues Jr'ish or better... Dirty channel not so important as I use my pedals for all my distortion)
- UNDER $700 used...
- 30 Watts or better (preferrably 40+)
- Not over 50 lbs
- Obtainable!

Ready.... Set.... GO!!!

That's a hot rod deluxe right there. Often for 400$ used. All over the place.

Not sure if you're looking for a head or combo, but a blackface (or early silverface) bassman sounds like it might fit the bill.

You can even find used 59 Bassman LTDs in that price range. I saw one on eBay go for under $600.

I've had 2 Devilles, 3 Hotrod Deluxes, and about 5 or 6 Blues Jrs before. Loved em and kept goin' back to them (obviously). Anyone tried the black pearl (genz benz)? Other suggestions? Any boutiques under $800 used out there?

Musicman RD50. Small, beautiful cleans, solid build. Took a Bassman to get the musicman out of my hands. After years of boutique hunting.

I agree with the cost benefit ratio of the fender amps mentioned... but they don't sound that 'sweet' to me except the PRRI. Most were kind of hard and at times just harsh sounding... not that they couldn't get the job done. I have em all and now am using a pro jr until I find a bigger fish to land.

This is what I was going to suggest. Single coils or hums? If SC, you'll have a lot more clean options ;-)

Stupid question, but is the Bassman just for Bass? No... seriously... I've had tons of Hotrod series Fenders, 4 Mesas, Traynors, Oranges, a Marshall, 4 or 5 Vox's, and some I cant even remember.. but one of the best amps I ever playe through was a Behringer Keyboard amp... lol. Had a booming bass with its 15" speaker and very nice cleans. Hence my question about the Bassman.

Ohhh.. and I play a PRS Custom 22 w/ Dragon I Hummys
