a tick under $2k, give or take. zero income. i've owned four other amps, a dozen other guitars, 20+ pedals, all sold... i'm just a hack and i only keep what i use, but i cherish the gear i have and get much joy out of it regularly.

You got some nice gear sneakerpimp....especially like the SG.

Me..... 5 - 6k.

What's sad is I looked at my $7.5k collection acquired over the last seven years and figured that I have spent at least an equal amount on cigarettes.

I gotta have 20k or more in total gear investment, although it may be more. I do make my entire living with the guitar in one way or another. Don't like to think about the entire amount. lol

took a min to add up & think-
guitars-$2000 (i have 7 total)
effects-$1440 (too many)
amps-$200 (only have 2)

TOTAL=$3640 (WOW!)

a few yrs ago i think effects wise i added up my investment and it was at the $600 level. i should add that the effects stuff, a few of the things i got as gifts, but i included the price since i got them new.

seems like a long time ago, from when i had my steinberger gl3t into my rat to my yamaha delay pedal to amp-that was my setup for 11 yrs.

Guitars (5): $6150 (Taylor 614ce, Gretsch White Falcon, 2x Tele Partscasters, Epiphone Dot w/ upgrades)
Amps/Cabs (2/ea): $1200 (Orange Tiny Terror, Vox Night Train, each with custom 1x12 cabs)
Pedals (10): $1005 (EB Volume, TU-2, TC Nova Dynamics, Micro Amp, J.Griffin (me) Tap-Tremolo, LTD clone, Fulldrive II, DLS clone, Giga Delay, TC HoF reverb)

Total: $8355. And I don't make a dollar off any of it right now unless I sell it.

I just did this because of insurance reasons... With all guitars, keyboards, amps, Drums, pedals, mics and much more it came to 52,000.... If I had that much money in my pocket now I know I sure wouldn't spend it all on gear

I think I figured about $12K, but I'm selling now and may get to $8-9K by the time I'm done. Much of that is tied up in two high-end acoustics, one of which is used for gigs.

I make about $1.5K a year gigging.

What I paid, or what they're worth?

My gig guitars I paid $3500 for my R8 and $1100 for my (backup) SG. With the blues band I play with, I use a SF Super Reverb that I paid $800 for, but indoors I use a SF Deluxe Reverb that I have about $700 into.

Yes, I've been playing gigs since I was in my 20s (I'm 58), and have a roster of students, both private and through the local adult ed.

I stopped keeping track long ago, but just in guitars and amps it is well over $75k. That first MIM Standard Strat 17 years ago started me on the road to ruin.

Never been a paid musician, just a hobby.

I have about $3500 in my complete gigging setup. Two amps, three guitars, tuner, wireless & Digitech RP500.

I'll be lucky if I make $3000 this year as a musician.

Total replacement value for insurance purposes is approaching $26,000. I've probably spent $17,000 on that figure (e.g. I've insured my pedals which are still in production at new selling price, even though I could likely pick most of them up for less).

Take away the $1,500 I've got in PA gear and a $300 bass, and the rest is in guitars, amps and pedals... I've really gotta sell some pedals!

I'd average a guess of about 12k, with about $400 being after the economy dropped
