Effect loop & vocals!

So after years of playing instrumental music, I am going to start using my vocal chord - preferably through my effect pedals until I get more gear (more money). so I have a couple of questions...

Microphone>Mixer>Effect Loop>Speakers

Can I do this and get acceptable sound?

Would phantom power work well with my effects (mostly ehx cathedral and rc-2 looper)? Does phantom power even work in effect pedals?

Any other advice is very welcome!

Can you be more specific with what you are trying to accomplish? It sounds like you want to mix guitar gear with PA gear, which really doesn't work that well.
