Which Divided by 13 Amp as my First?

I am somewhat confused by the lineup. As my first /13 I would like a non Marshall type amp. I play in a Classic Rock cover band boardering on Hard Rock. I am not strickly a Marshall guy, but am comfortable with brit tone and American tones.

I have a 65AMPS Tupelo now as my main amp.

You 13 experts, where do I start?

If you want a non Marshall amp, i would recommend the FTR 37 or the RSA 31.

The FTR has the kinda Fender vibe and the RSA 31 has the Vox vibe going, but the cool thing about Divided by 13's are they have a unique voice. They sound kinda like something, but always has their own flair.

The JRT is also a really cool amp, because you can switch between 6v6's and EL84's

CJ11 is cool if you want a Tweed style amp

I personally have the FTR 37 and got a LDW on the way (which is Marshall'esque) The FTR 37 is just the most amazing clean amp i've ever tried, i think the word that describes the tone best is Massive. Even at low volumes the tone is just very wide and deep. The click channel is perfect for doubling a guitar track.
If you're looking for a clean amp, the FTR is hard to beat.

The JRT gets my vote. It gives you 2 amps in one. Will definitely do the classic rock thing. Fender/ Vox

I'd recommend you don't get a /13 at the moment - it looks like Fred is revamping his lineup with new offerings and you might as well wait

For hard rock the LDW is hard to beat, but it is in the modern Marshall camp.

I can't wait 'til i get mine

I forgot to mention, the only thing i don't like about my FTR 37, is.. It does take pedals well, BUT... it's like it gets too much low end if you try to play some chugging stuff on anything but a Strat or Tele. For me at least, it's the perfect Strat amp, but my 335 and Les Paul Junior gets a bit too flubby on the low strings when i'm chugging. It's definitely a clean amp, but the click channel sounds amazing for just a liiiiittle grit on the tone.

Joe, it IS one of the Marshall-y ones but let me know if you want to try my RSA23. Its got some other stuff going on besides just straight up Marshall tones.

Thanks Phil, I'll give a listen to clips to see if it's in the range of what I'm looking for.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you spend time playing it before buying.
The /13 is well made.
I bought one and traded it within 1 month.
Do research.
Not hating on them. They just aren't for everyone.

I love my CCC 9/15..Voxy, Fendery, and Marshally all in one amp...I listed it for sale but will most likely keep it. The master volume works so well. The other amps listed are soooo loud!!

Hard Rock, no Marshall? Ummmm.....you havent played the right Marshall yet. FTR and RSA's are going to suck in that arena. Im sorry to say it, but they just will. I will say, the EDT13/29 would best serve you from Divided By.

Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions....I don't play all hard rock...only about 20% of the set is heavy...the rest is popier.

How about the JRT 9/15?

What type of music are you playing? Is the amp strickly a "Marshall" amp circuit or tone?
