The Kurt Rosenwinkle sound

I've been totally grooving on Kurt Rosenwinkles "The Next Step" lately.

Anyone know how he gets that sound? What's he doing or using?

When I last saw him he had a mic and was singing the lines as he played them. That's the chorusy effect you hear on the CD.

I thought so! Interesting. He sings way better than Keith Jarrett!

I heard he actually uses a rat or tubescreamer with the gain completely off. Hence that kind of midrangey sound.
