Which Roku to get

After reading about it here I've decided to get Roku. Which one should I get: HD, XD, or XD/s? I don't have an HD TV (but it's one of the newer, pretty large LG ones....42" I think). I have one of the standard Netgear wireless routers (not an N router I don't think). I basically want to use it to stream netflix movies, maybe Hulu plus or some of those other channels. My instinct in for the cheapest one but if it lacks something that I may need the other ones aren't that much more expensive.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Spend the extra $20 and get the XD/S. I think it's got their quickest processor. Regardless of how fancy your TV is, you want to make sure you don't have signal dropouts. I think the XD/S is their fastest unit.

If you have HDMI on the TV, the cheapest one will work. If you need component jacks or S-Video for hookup, then the XDS is what you'll need.

I bought the XDS just in case I want to move it around the house to my standard TV's.

Available on the XD/S only: "USB port for playing stored photos, music, and videos"

Sounds like a feature that might come in handy...

i got the xd/s because of the USB port. It's nice to load up a thumb drive with a bunch of music and have it easily avail on the HT system. Honestly, I use the pandora radio more than the USB port....but certainly worth an extra 30 bucks to me.

I got the middle one at $79 because that is what was available.
Nice, I bought a Blu Ray player yesterday and was gonna move the Roku to the bedoom only to find the Blu Ray had to have a cable. So its in my sons room where the router is.

Anyway, Im a few weeks in with the roku and a nice antenna and its working pretty darned good for me.

Im getting a variety of cities for the networks including Myrtle Beach / Columbia / Charlotte / Raleigh. I guess really am right in the middle of those towns though so.

Here is the big deal though for me. When I canceled DTV last monday they wanted to roll out the carpet baby! First they offered to drop $20 off the monthly bill making it $60 a month. No thanks. Oh we want to make it $25 off? No thanks. Now we'll pile the movie channels free for 3 months. No thanks.

Then here is the kicker that pissed me off. "Mr Dickie Im surprised no rep has stepped up to the plate. You've been a DTV customer for over 10 years. You're due to receive the free DVR in every room free! We'll have them sent right out." No thanks you sorry.....

I had called DTV a year ago to ask about the DVR only to be told Id have to BUY the DVR boxes and stuff and PAY for installation.

I dont miss DTV at all. Im saving exactly $720 a year by going Roku/Antenna.

That for me is a new guitar.
