Which Lindy Fralins for Telecaster, so many choices...

From those that have made the step to using Lindy Fralins, having looked over what is on offer, with +2% and +5% winds and several magnet configurations.
Is there any one out there that has made the change from what was original pickups. Mine are from a MIM Telcaster.
So I want to stay with the singles and keep stock apperance. This will be my first foray into PickUp changes, so I'm trying to get as experienced veteran that has personal suggestions of what possibility could be achieved thru the use of the different hues on offer.
I'm happy with what I've got, but would like to see if there is some more body that can be tapped by changing PickUps without getting Muddy results.
Alder Body, maple neck. I'm running 12 - 56 Not Even Slinkys into a Orange TT with an Epiphone 'Lady Luck' loaded 4x12 coming in week.

I've got a solid body Maton with Humbuckers, the closest description I've can muster is a Les-Paul vibe as our Australian Timbers has been equated to the tradition woods used in the Gibson Les Pauls. That said it holds it's own distinctive Character. So I've got that as a deeper tone based machine, and of course want to maintain the Fundamental Fender Telecaster tone, just with a bit more of body, presence, country?....

Appreciate the input.

Nik

Well, I love the Fralin Blues Specials, which are 5% overwound, w/ the hybrid pole stagger on my open G tuned 48th St. Custom Shop Stratotele hybrid...but that's a peculiar guitar and I haven't had the same pickups on my traditional Tele. The uncovered neck pickup in that set is a great neck pickup, Straty and clear. Those pickups are warm and balanced. Great sounding pickups. Lots of body for sure. Maybe a little less country than vintage winds and in terms of the neck position something of a less traditional sound for a Tele, but more useful in my experience.

This is where I'm at, as well... Blues Specials 5% overwound. Very nice....

Catch up with you on the next wave with some feedback.

I use a set of his 'Vintage Hots' Tele pickups and they sound great clean and overdriven.

As well, his 'Vintage Hots' Strat pickups are nice.

Kmaz, I will look into the Vintage Hots as well. They both sound 'by name'... Of the right kind of direction.
Once again Appreciated advice
Cheers, Nik.

In my experience, Vintage Hots have more high end, Blues Specials have a little more output and definitely more mids.

Lindy describes the Blues Specials as having 5% more mids and 5% less highs than the Vintage Hots, I believe. The Blues Special neck pickup is purely righteous sounding, IMHO. It's hotter than the Vintage Hot, and more like a Strat pickup, but not exactly - but I think it's wonderful.

The Vintage Hot bridge is a little twangier, the Blues Special bridge more middy and a little hotter output.

Hope this helps, Dana O.

I agree with this. That neck pickup is a marvel. For anyone ever thinking about putting a Strat pickup in a Tele neck position, the Fralin Blues Special neck pickup will get you a sound of that sort which you're going to adore in a size that will drop right into your Tele. My favorite neck pickup tone on any of my guitars.

But I could understand someone wanting a less warm, more twanging bridge pickup. FWIW, the Don Mare 0038 broadcaster style pickup wound even up to 10K ohm DCR, is a fine choice for a warmer hotter bridge pickup that maintains the twang IMHO.
