Larry Mitchell Live with the Axe-FX 2 (Video)

I know a lot of guys here don't read the Fractal Forum, but are at least interested in this sort of thing, so I am posting it here.

Larry Mitchell posted this video over at the Fractal Forum and I dug it so here it is. Larry runs direct to FOH with his Fractal; Larry is real deal out there making a living playing.

Here you go:

From Larry's post over at the Fractal Forum:

I love having the headphone out. after shows and the next day before leaving for sound checks I have been plugging in my in Ears and tweaking things here and there then tweaking a little at sound checks too by using the headphone out. Great.

The one Cat 5 cable to the II is great. I literally plug in one AC power cable into the Axe FX II and the Expression cable for the EP-1 into the MFC and Im good to go. Very cool and simple set up which I am way into these day. Simple.

It's way easy to tweak with out and editor too!

Sound guys have been really digging it as well See video:

More sound tech comments on the axe fx 2:

These last two nights have been a Guitar Trilogy with the Travis Larson band and the Rikk Beatty Bands (both great guitar Players) and they have both been digging the Axe FX II. (maybe converts soon) We have a really fun and crazy jam with all of us at the end each night and I am happy to say that My patches held up great next to there rigs. (i know that Axe FX can, but was worried about how I dial in my patches for that kind of thing). :-)

more video to come soon, thank you for watching

Larry
*Note - I'm not Larry, he's a bad ass (I'm not a bad ass because I suck but that's another tangent... ) but he runs direct to FOH so at least I have that in common with him. Great stuff.

I was really impressed with that tone FOH. I would have never thought it was a modeler. Really punchy and it cleaned up great too.

Fabulous. Sounds really great.

Larry Mitchell is a fantastic guitarist. And, what a nice guy to boot.

You know my life is getting sad when I'm performing at a gig tonight and I'm watching/listening to these videos in between sets on my Android phone.

Oh, well... I can't get enough Axe FX II footage.

Killer clip!

Larry is a great player and the Axe II was crankin' out the tone.

What a freaking good player Larry is. That was so sweet. The tones of course were steller as well. It is time to start agressively saving as I sold off much just to get the Ultra a while back.

Larry is a monster player and one cool mofreaker! That's a great idea getting sound guys on tape about the Axe-FX. I've never seen sound guys as giddy over guitar equipment as they were when I was playing through my Axe-FX.

Still don't apreciate the sonic difference between the "vintage" Axe an the newer one. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for quality demos.

BTW, killer playing as always, great mix of heavy FX using (but not as crazy or nonmusical as some others), shredding and feeling... that guy makes anyone jealous

Missing the boat - sonically they are actually similar in the end. They do not get there the same way; and the feel/dynamics is better with the 2. Guys looking for some giant leap sonically are selling the Ultra/Standard short. They were not - and still are not - somehow below grade.
