Duane Allman's guitars?

A lot of you may already know the answer to this question, but what/wear ever became of Duane's guitars? I have seen a lot lately about his Goldtop, but where is the burst and the SG?

I saw one or two at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland a couple years ago. Not sure if they are still there or not.

I was surprised how many guitars that seemed to be unplayable were behind the glass. The frets were all way beyond shot. Flat, dented, grooved and worn. Duane's and Jerry Garcia's guitars come to mind as the worst of the lot.

I played his 54 Strat at the London Hard Rock Cafe back in 2005. It was beat to hell with 2" action. Don't know if it is still there. Hendrix's V was in a little better shape and that one played pretty well.

Duane Allman was the greatest slide player I've ever heard. He don't need no stinkin' frets.

Duane's daughter, Galadrielle, owns the tobacco burst and Graham Nash owns the SG. They are loaned out to various people and events.

A private owner has the goldtop, recently palyed by Vince Gill at a charity event in Macon, as reported here..

Not true, but he was buried with a Coricidin bottle on his ring finger and a joint in his shirt pocket.

Everybody's been playing that Goldtop lately; I saw Zac Brown playing it in Atlanta last month.

I'm telling you, I can't help but believe it's on a publicity tour and will soon officially hit the market. Those guys are smart-they're puttin' it in front of nostalgic yuppies and sooner or later one will have the cash.

the Goldtop isn't going to be sold anytime soon at all...read an interview by the owner, he wants that piece of history to be played instead of just stuck behind glass like Duane's other guitars, and most every other guitar great's instruments.

There was an interview where the owner was talking about it and why he wants it played in a guitar magazine, it was talking about the most valuable guitars and artists original instruments. I think it had a '58 V or Explorer on the front.
