John Grunder... RIP

My old Friend John Grunder, the original sales rep for the Fender Custom Shop when Michael and I first started it, passed away a couple of days ago. I'm sure many of you old customers and dealers of the FCS knew him from those early days. I believe that he stayed there until about 2001.

Because of his love of music a scholarship fund has been set-up at the Fender Center in his name. If any of you are interested in donating here's the link - http://www.fendermuseum.com/john-grunder.html

Rest well Johnny G...

Very sorry to hear this. I heard earlier this week. I knew John best in his early years, and knew of some of his demons that he fought and defeated. He was a very sweet soul. I'll never forget playing with this skinny little guy who already could cover BBKing on a black Gibson in his teens. I know he had some very close friends and that he loved the world of music. I am sad to know he is gone, but I know he had so many times of happiness in his life. John, I know working with you in the Custom Shop was a great joy for him.

Sad to hear of his passing. He was a great guy and a friend of the old LA Guitar Shows I produced in the 80s. Sorry to say I hadn't seen him in a few years. He always had a big smile for me that I'll always remember. R.I.P.

I knew him through Dekarr Music as well. What a bummer, such a nice guy and a great talent.
