If You Could Have One Free Guitar and Amp What Would They Be?

OK - so you have the chance to get one guitar and one map for free.

You can not sell it - so taking the most expensive one and just trading/selling is not an option.

One guitar you don't have to pay for and will keep and play forever along with your others.

For the guitar I would take a Gibson ES-295 because I always wanted one and never buy one when I see them for sale.

For the map I would take a Tweed Fender Pro - the old wide panel because I really like my wide panel Deluxe and don't see them for sale much.

What is yours?

For the guitar I'd have to say a 65 strat, or a very cool custom shop version of one.

The amp would be a Fender Princeton Reverb from the same era...

I'm not real hard to please

I'd want one of those 50s Jazzmasters with the anodized gold pickguard and a tweed Tremolux.

I don't know the answer to the question...that would require a lot of thought.

But, I can immediately say I wish I were cool enough to refer to an amp as a "map".

Pretty sure that will never happen, though.

I would need to play the guitars available and match the one I choose with the sound that comes from the maps available.

Maps ... is that like the Moops? (Seinfeld reference)

Fiddle = Original '58 korina V.
Amp = Clapton's Marshall combo used on the Beano album.

I'd take my old '77 Les Paul Special that I foolishly sold 20 years ago.
And a map with an X on it that tells me where the pirates buried their treasure.

Guitar: 60s strat of some sort.

Map: one that shows the location of Jimmy Hoffa's body.

Cool man! I have one of those Marshalls. I think mine is a 65 but I don't get hung up on dates and stuff. Great map but not good trem in there!
