hey guys, im going to pull the plug to get the ac20 deluxe! im gathering funds and mr. morgan says that he'll stick with the old prices for the month of january (150 less than the ones advertised on his site). so if im ordering an ac20 deluxe the cost would come to $2150 ($1550 for head and $600 for the cab with celestion blues) instead of $2300? i would like to know so i can transfer the right funds to the proper account. and do we pay immediately upon ordering or is there a downpayment?

Your calculations are correct for the head - the price for a 1x12 cab with a Blue is $600 on his website now, so you may want to call Joe to see if that price is an updated new price. Re: payment, I can share with you that over the past 18 months, I've bought a DAG15 head & 1x12 cab as well as an AC20 Delixe head & 1x12 cab from Joe and each time I put 50% down at time of order and paid the balance upon delivery.

Whew! Just ordered a Dual 40 in black and red with matching 2x12 cab! I'm really excited to say the least! You will for sure being seeing a NAD thread sometime at the end of March.

Joe was incredibly helpful and lived up to his rep around here. I was kind of nervous, being that this is my first custom amp (and first time I've doled out this much money on a piece of gear), but I feel confident that Joe's the best guy to build an amp.

I really can't wait for March to roll around, so that I can switch from my AC30 CC2.

I have the Dual 40 - best Vox type I have owned. Sets in the mix very well with a single ASW Elegante. You may also like Cele Blues with it.

Even though it seems like a lot of $$$ to you now, it is a great deal. Joe's prices are really good.

Yeah, lot of money for a college student, but for $1k less than a Matchless, I'll take a handmade amp with a great reputation haha.

I'm putting in an Alnico Blue and an Alnico Gold. Hoping to get a great sound from that pairing.

Yes, I got the idea from the 10PM I saw in the Emporium. I thought, "wouldn't it be cool if there was a lightweight 10PM version of the AC20 Deluxe?"

Here are the specs (in addition to stock 10PM):
- power scaling
- EF86/12AX7 switch
- brilliant switch
- 1x12 pine smoke chilewich combo cab (same size as DAG15)
- celestion neo vintage speaker
- weight ~35 lbs

That's what I would've guessed... I'll bet that's gonna be a fun amp. I've got a chalk Chilewich AC20 Deluxe combo sitting at my house, waiting for me to return from vacation...

Thanks! I just sent in my down payment for the ac20 dlx today! I'm soooo excited to finally get an awesome amp that cost me all of my limbs!! I'm also cutting out some pedals i think i won't be needing since i want to use the amp's natural tone as much as possible! do you guys push the amp as your main od? i was thinking about getting the new klon or some kind of boost to use the amp's natural od as my light/medium gain stage! As of right now i have the timmy (for solos/boost) a keeley rat(might sell this) and a little green wonder on the way!

You pretty much described exactly what I do. 90% of my OD comes from the amp. The breakup on my AC20 Deluxe is so amazing (especially on the ef86 channel); I don't really need much else. Occasionally, I'll use my Klon for solos and other lead parts, but it's just there to help the amp shine. My girlfriend once said about the Klon, "It's like salt. It doesn't change the flavor of the amp; it just makes it better." I thought that was the perfect analogy. Anyway, unless you're looking for metal, you really don't need juice up your amp with OD pedals.

Ok so I got the email last Thursday that my amp was ready to ship...I paid the balance 30 minutes later but haven't got any shipping info...I'm on the edge of my seat. How long did yours take to ship? I know NAMM was this past weekend though so I'm glad I got my order in before Joe's business explodes with new clients.

So you don't use the 12AX7 channel normally? so what your're suggesting is that i really don't need the little green wonder (i have a deal but not quite sure if i should buy it) and i should just use my timmy and some other transparent boost? i was thinking about getting the klon for light gain/clean boost thats always on to push the amp, using the timmy for lead lines/solos or to just push the amp in general. maybe i'll get an ep booster to add depth for my tele's single coil pickups and sparkle. i play for worship so i really don't need crazy fuzz/distortion so i don't know where my keeley rat or the lgw would fit in (maybe i can use the lgw as another coloring of my tone or to get that tubescreamer voicing? or rat for some crazy distortion)...im totally new to this using amp overdrive since this is my first really really good amp.

also i just sold my diamond compressor thinking that it would kill the dynamics of the amp...was this a good move? i normally don't like compression from a pedal and basically just used it as a clean boost/adding little sustain when picking cleans and rarely used it while strumming. would the klon/ep booster add sustain? sorry for all these questions!
