Favorite 1x12 cab

What's your favorite 1x12 cab??

I'm looking for a portable and lightweight 1x12 cab I can easily grab and go for the smaller gigs... I will be pairing it with a cornell 18/20 head

Stoneage 1x12's looks nice and tidy but they also look heavy

Another option is a Kerry Wright 1x12

Maybe a Bogner cube?

I'd love to hear your thoughts fellas

I picked up a used wide body (~23") Mesa 1x12 with a Black Shadow for $230 to use with a Chieftain. Condition is near mint.

I own a Stone Age, it is only heavy if you put an EV12L in it. But, even then, it is still quite portable. They sound sooo good and are extremely well made.

my Suhr 1x12 loaded with a V30 is amazing (and so is my 2x12 w/g1265, bigger, but very light, too).

My Mesa/Thiele C90 is nice, and not too heavy.

Port City OverSized 1X12!
I have a Suhr I like too.
Bought an Avatar and sold it after hearing these other two.

Mather cab makes a phenominal 1x12 with an oval back. I've had more compliments on this cab than anything else I've got. Very small and portable. I have an EVM12L in mine so its heavier than it would be if it had something else in it.

Bogner Cube is a great cabinet. Easy to carry around and has a great thick full sound. The CAA 1x12 is pretty close to the Cube too.

Look up Nerby Custom Cabinets. They are super light, very well made, and priced right. I couldn't be happier with mine.

A +1 for Mather cabs!
SOLID, relatively light, perfect tolex. Great guys, too!

Although I really enjoy and recommend my open-back wide-body Mesa 1x12 cabs, the best 1x12 cab I've ever heard is a Forte 3D 1x12. The Forte sound projection is consistent over a wide range of locations, making it really easy to hear yourself.

So I guess nobody here likes Avatar's?

Or maybe they are just not the "flavor of the day" any longer. Well, I've got two, both 2x12's with 1 V30 and 1 Heritage each. One open back and one closed back. The closed back has the Hellatone (broken in) versions of the V30 and Heritage in it. I like both cabs fine; they've been seviceable, are well built, and I got them both for a good price. For the money I think they are hard to beat. They are not particularly light, however - so I'd be open to looking at other options, if I found something I liked better. In a 1x12 cab, I've always liked the Bogner "Cube". Pretty amazing sound for a small box. He makes nice cabs, but they are pricey. If you could find a deal on a used cube though, I think you'd like it.

+1 "sound projection is consistent over a wide range of locations"

Think of the implications, e.g., the singer (lead, out front) hears what you hear; you don't have to bend down to check how loud your cab is or what tone you have, etc.

Thom - let me know when you get your 2x12 Forte/Vertical thingy.
