Jimi Hendrix's guitars and amps at The Experience Music Project

When I was in Seattle I visited the Experience Music Project, and spent a great deal of time in the Hendrix Room

This is one of the Stage Outfits Jimi wore in 1970, I used to hav a poster from the Atlanta Pop Festival with him wearing it. Flashes are VERBOTEN in the EMP so some of my pics suck, my apologies in advance!

100 Watt JMP Marshall Head and Fender Dual Showman Cab used by Hendrix

Noel Redding's Bass. I couldnt get a clear shot of the Ampeg Bass amp and Cabinet

Burberry Coat purchased by Hendrix shortly after he arrived in London. I remember seeing him wearing it in many of the early JHE promo shots

The Holy Grail of guitars: the Strat he played in Woodstock

Thanks for sharing- that Woodstock strat looks incredibly clean for one of Jimi's instruments.

I remember EMP, and the Hendrix floor. Thanks for reminding me, and for taking pics (I went but didn't think to bring a camera).

It was amazing just being in the same room as the Hendrix "Woodstock" Strat and Claptons "Brownie".

I was thinking the same thing. The amps are pretty clean also.

THANKS for the pics, O.P.

Nice pics. Here is a picture of my holding his true lefty custom flying V in London. Also his couch I am sitting on. Being a lefty myself it was special to hit a few notes from manic depression and purple haze with it.

Lightest Gibson I've ever played. If only I could have plugged it in for about an hour and been able to use a pick.

Never new he had a lefty V. Too bad he never got a lefty Strat or got to play with modern day PA systems with great monitoring.

To ad excitement here, I saw Jimi 3 months before Woodstock at a Rock Festival in the middle of the San Fernado Valley. I was 14. I bought a Johnny Winter Album and Are you Experienced in 68.
This is a guy who should have lived a long live for the benifet of our music today
