NGD!! Custom Shop 61 Strat in Olympic White

Actually a few days late; I picked this up earlier in the week but I've been too busy at work to even open the case - a frustrating few days to say the least!

It's a Custom Shop 61 Relic Strat. Made the day after my birthday in 2005, and the first 4 numbers of the serial happen to be my birth year.

I'm nonpartisan when it comes to the relic argument but I like the idea of buying a light relic like this and then as it 'naturally relics' over time it was never NOS so it isn't losing resale value.

Anyway, without further ado...

Is that like tarnished gold hardware? I was looking at the side by side shot itshows up better.

I like that rw/white combo with mint guard, hope it plays as well as it looks!

Thanks guys. Yes, plays great. I prefer the feel of the V of the 57 (Japanese reissue) and it sounds better unplugged, but the CS sounds incredible plugged in.

Yes, it's tarnished gold hardware. I'm not usually a fan of gold on a Strat but I love this combination of Oly white and tarnished gold.

Bt the way, do Custom Shop pickups all have the CS sticker on the bottom, or only the aftermarket ones?

Very cool. 61's hold a special place for me. My HS graduation year and I'm going to my 50th reunion next week. Some day I hope to own one. Enjoy!

Sweet strat! Tell us about the neck; is it a fuller C than the 60?

I like the aged gold and white combo too. They fit well together.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

I think the neck is the same as the '60 but I don't have much experience with that one so I can't say for certain. It is pretty thin by my standards and definitely a C rather than a D.
