Trying again-

Threw this together this morning based on the speaker discussion thread.

Love my little Zingaro..Considering putting it in a head shell.

Comparison using a Ported 4X12 of Weber Blue/Silvers vs. the Combo M75 LHDC

Through an IPAD-

Meeps-

Thanks you guys-

@Mayo5 ..
Lucky indeed. I count my blessings for sure-

The cleans are so important to me on any of these rigs- My theory here is if the cleans are epic than you know you have a great platform for OD whether you are using on board drive or adding flavor from the pedal board- It is nice to take the combo (Zingaro) to Jazz clubs and fit in with a Real Book sesh but that amp will also Throw some heat if the shit pops off.

@Greg. that's a 50 watter with traditional Skyliner voicing using 6l6s. Those are lower wind pups and even so I have the pre-amp Gain @ 9:00 and the OD gain @ 11:00 so some pretty modest setting for OD. That amp takes a beating..Lot of stages and un kind treatment and it holds up like a champ. The M75 LHDC or Celestion 12-65 is really a great speaker for that amp.

Loven' the Santa Cruz. It has a "fire" to it that makes it difficult to put my guitar down. Damn that amp is loud, however, even with the 1/2 power switch on! Perhaps a 25 or so watt Zingaro is in the cards down the road?

Glad to hear you are having fun with the amp. They definately aren't your mothers Dumble style amp .

We are always here, just let us know your wish. We have built a few Santa Cruz Zingaros and they are very fun as well. Zingaros are always available.

Gary

That voicing is definitely killer.

I'm not exactly sure if I know what a "mother's Dumble" style amp really is - I think I have a pretty good hunch.....LOL - but I'm really digging my Desert Sky, too!

And, Randy, if you want the ultimate "grab-n-go" amp that still pumps out a ton of Gary's magical tonal ingredients, the Zingaro is it! I played several gigs with mine over the winter, and I've had lots of folks asking me what kind of an amp I was running through, all of whom commented that they loved the tone.

I've had my SOD II for five months now and it has ruined me. I took out one of my other amps on the weekend and I couldn't get a sound that I liked. I agree with Billion that if an amp has a great clean sound it is a great platform for OD or for pedals. The Glaswerks clean is great. Now I'm debating on a second Glaswerks amp. The only debate being which amp and which voice. I'm thinking Santa Cruz this time.

Agreed, the Glaswerks Clean is fat and clean, really fun to play. I don't think there are many (a few, but not many) that can touch it for boldness, bounce, and clarity.

Hello Glaswerks Gang,

I was recently offered a GW Deluxe Overdrive in a trade with another TGP member (thanks Steve) which I hope arrives later this week. Along with the DO, Steve sold me the Reverb-a-loop (which seemed like a no-brainer, all things considered). It's the Santa Cruz voicing with 4x6L6.

I believe this is the actual amp with Mr. Olsen at the controls:

This quick video really shows the versatility of this amp. Unfortunately, I wish the video started 40 seconds earlier, because if you listen to the very beginning (0:05 - 0:08) Dana had had some big gain pumping. I would have liked to hear that for little longer too....

So, I've been doing as much research as possible and, I have found limited information on the Deluxe Overdrive. The few clips that I've seen on YT sound fantastic (really fantastic). The amp does not sound too compressed (Santa Cruz?) on the video clips, which is always a good sign to me. The tone is pretty intense along with the great sustain.

As a rock/blues player, I'm really looking forward to checking this amp out and, was just curious if you guys could add any information about the Overdrive Deluxe Santa Cruz?

I do have a GW 1x12XL with a EV12L that I intend to start with...

I've never played a GW before so, any thoughts, information or advice would be much appreciated.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! It's time for another turkey-salad sandwich!
-John

Congrats John... I hear that all GW's amps are sounding leaner and meaner since Gary is now leaner and meaner... Well, leaner anyway!

Enjoy that amp!
