Help me rehouse!!!!

I've never done much pedal work.. but I have a Voodoo labs sparkle drive with a beat to hell enclosure and i want to re-house it and bring it back to life. I loved the pedal when i used it but its been acting as a glorified paper weight and i want to change that. Can someone tell me how to go about rehousing this... where to get parts/what to get...etc..

Thanks in advance
John

Get the enclosure pre-drilled from Pedal Parts Plus. You might want to pick up a 3PDT stomp switch as well, and some 24-gauge wire. A few feet in white and black should do the trick. Google for how to wire a 3PDT switch.

In the Sparkle Drive, the switch and jacks are soldered to the main circuit board, as is the adapter jack which needs to fit into the square cutout at the top end. Also, the pots are soldered to a sub-board (connected with flat multi-wires that break off easily at the board end - consider yourself warned ). So unless you want this to turn into a massive rebuild, you'll need to get the same box size (Hammond 1590BB), and drill all the holes exactly in the correct locations. Is the stock box damaged? If not, why not save yourself a whole heap of trouble and just repaint that one?

My thoughts exactly. The original Voodoo Lab graphics are pretty lame anyway. A really cool refinish may be the perfect thing. Check the auto body supply store for inspiration. You could do printed graphics, silk screen, embossed graphics on bare metal - lots of possibilities. Last year, a guy on TGP was doing airbrushed sci-fi scenes on pedals, extremely cool.

yup, sounds like just a re-finish of existing enclosure is needed....
