Some people must get really board and view this as entertainment or see the gear they own as an extension of their ego.

Yeah it's gotten beyond old. I didn't realize how bad it was until I went to some other manufacturer forums and like half of the first page was full of epic AxeFXII bashing threads or arguments about it. It smacks of insecurity.

Every piece of gear has pros and cons and different flavors and bells and whistles. It's called variety. Just be glad that we have such a wide selection to choose from and that almost anything you buy today from a $100 Mustang amp to a $2200 AxeFXII will get you a very usable tone.

Speaking for myself only, I was bored this morning. Plus, I saw an injustice that needed to be addressed...

Baloney.

Your comment without knowing me or my intentions crosses the line of courtesy IMO.

I plan on buying one or the other within the next month.

The question "Is the Axe $1000 better" is meant to get useful feedback.

Just asking for info & speculating.

Feels like I've been jailed, judged & ready for hanging.

Sounds like others may need to take the chill pill they're throwing at me.

FWIW...I was a AxeFX owner. I'm not speaking from ignorance. I think it's an outstanding product. I just need to make a qualified decision on one or another soon. I can't afford both.

Sorry if I didn't choose words that were more calming and soothing vs. appearing to be combative.

My words were chosen as if speaking with good friends/fellow musicians throwing around the bull at a bar and having a beer, not as the President of the United States standing on a podium where the fate of the world is at hand.

So I offer an official apology to all TGP'ers for not taking more care in the wording.

I think this Kemper is really cool but I find it hard to believe that it can learn the feel of the amplifier as well with just a short capture. It sounds like it cops the sound pretty accurately but it may feel like a Pod when you play it, definitely would have to try out in person with shorts and a tank top on.

Make sure your shorts/tank top combo is cotton not polyester, which can adversely change the tone in a bad way.

Scott will attest to the fact that we are often on different sides of a (respectful) fence on many issues, but he's exactly right - you are trolling.

You come into a forum, you post an incendiary topic and give ABSOLUTELY NO OPINION OF SUBSTANCE on the matter, just a popcorn guy waiting for the ensuing riot.

Classic trolling, Scott's right and this little dance of yours here to try and foxtrot out of it is laughable.

What's YOUR opinion on the matter? Where is YOUR contribution to the thread YOU started? No where.

That's why it's trolling, and that's why Scott was right. Do better next time.

From Wiki:
"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory[citation needed], extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the PRIMARY INTENT of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

How do you know my intentions? You don't. You're judging me instead of asking, which would be the right path to take in any misunderstanding.

Ask. Then judge and accuse.

I even apologized for not making my good intentions clearer. Not good enough for you apparently.

My intentions are to share useful info (I can't go to NAMM so I can't contribute).

People are no longer allowed to ask others for qualified feedback on this forum? Are there no other users that are looking to buy a Kemper or AxeFX that could benefit from the useful information posted in this thread?

Back to topic...Have any Axe users played one at NAMM and can make a qualified comparison whether the tone/feel/sound is really noticeable (to them) and worth the extra $1000?

Let me rewrite OP to make it less troll-baity...

Has anyone had a chance to compare the Kemper and AxeFX II in recent guitar shows? How do they stack up? If you buy a AxeFX II today only to find the Kemper is up to snuff at a lower price, would that bother you? I'm trying to decide if I should dive in now on the AxeFX II

<no smilies or other stuff attached>

The problem is I think people got the sense the OP was baiting them as to say (as we saw with the POD HD)...ha, ha...I got a product that can do what yours does at a fraction of the cost.

I think you run these kinds of risks with any products. Someone is always trying to build a better mouse trap at a cost that's lower than the competition. I think you would be fine with AxeFX II. I just can't imagine that the Kemper product is going to completely steal the market such that it renders your AxeFX II investment moot. But that's the risk of purchasing technology. I happen to think the risk is low so I'm ready to invest in the AxeFX II when my number comes up.
