Hello All.
I have a chance to purchase a DC-10 head for pretty cheap here locally. I use to jam on a DC-5 head back in the day and loved it. Even playing with another guitar player who used a Mark IV, I still loved the tone more then the IV. I really liked the overall darker tone of the amp, plus that really sweet smooth lead tone it had. So smooth! Cleans were excellent as well. However, I don't have much experience with a DC-10 but would love to get that tone back. Are the leads on the DC-10 just as smooth as the DC-5? I know it has a ton more headroom and quite LOUD as even the DC-5 was. Does the FX loop take pedals ok? Any mods needed to the amp? I play alot of heavy progressive material, but also play alot of jazz/fusion as well. I figured the DC-10 would be perfect for me. Of course it would look good sitting next to both my MarkIII heads too. ![]() Thanks for all your help in advance! |

if you've got the right setting for the volume that thing can put out, it's an awesome amp!
you said it, though - they are loud.

Yes, very good amp, DCs are still my favorite Mesas and probably the best overall amp they ever put out.

Thanks folks! These amps are pretty amazing, especially for the price you can get them for. If the lead on the 10 is going to be the like the 5, that's real sweet to hear. That DC-5 was definitely up there with one of the best tones I've ever had besides my MIIIs.
