i have one. its awesome. very rat like but with more clarity and punch. and the overdrive portion of the pedal is very nice for a nice boost.

You might try a VFE Alpha Dog. It's a Rat & Muff variant that has good bite. Great sounding pedal here's a link to their site:

Had one and moved it on in an erroneous fit of GAS. I run a Keeley big box now, but the Hartman definitely kicks ass for thickness with bite. As mentioned above, it's twin channel; you can set it up as a boost or as a second voicing by adjusting the internal trim. Cool pedal for sure.

It's currently a question of get one of these (although the limited eq options concern me a bit) or save up for a Blackstone (twice the price).

Anyone try both?

ive also had a blackstone. they are completely different to me. the hartman is more focused sounding. whereas the blackstone is definitely more open sounding. kind of reminds me of a marshall superbass in its gain characteristics..
for the money the hartman lm308 is fantastic...it really cuts through in live mixes..
