Large or small pickguard for ES-333/335?

I have to choose between small pickguard (3 layer) and large (5 layer) to put on my ES333.

Which one do you think would look best? FWIW, both pickguards are brand new black ones...the guitar is buffed cherry.

And oh, how do you connect the bracket to the pickguard, glue?

added pic...the big pg still has plastic on top of it, which is why it's not shiny.

Both look good, I personally prefer small (which I put on my 333)

I prefer the small as well. As to attaching to the bracket, you need to drill a hole.

In my quest to make my '85 Dot Neck look like a 59/60 335, I went through a few pkgds B4 I found one I liked & that fit OK. The one on that Sparkle 335 w/ the Bigsby looks more correct than the long guard you've placed on yours (too wide). I think got mine from Parts is Parts ...? Given the choice for what you have now...small.

From what I've read, the 335 and some other semis were originally built using parts from other Gibson models, hence the large pickguard, which was originally from another model. Somewhere along the line the made a smaller one for the 335.
