David Byrne's gear on "More Songs About Buildings And Food."

Hey everyone.

I'm a huge fan of David Byrne and Talking heads and my favorite album by them has got to be "More Songs About Buildings And Food."

Does anyone out there know what Guitar pedals and effects he used on that album? Just a curious fan. I love the guitar rhythms and textures used between him and Jerry harrison.

Thanks in advanced.

Best use of the conceptualist "grid" ever! (And I'm not surprised...)

o

Doubt there was much Boss on his board in 78 or 79. My guess would be a dynacomp, distortion plus and phase90.

Hmm I think around that time he was still using his Duo Sonic with the humbucker in the bridge, most likely just using a roland jazz chorus amp or a fender twin. Not sure about pedals.

He had the 60s strats by '78.

So I reckon:

Strat-few MXR pedals-Fender amp, probably a Twin Reverb.

Ahhh..ok I see..it looks like he just used His mustang and plugged her right in his fender twin reverb. Byrne probably didn't get pedals and such till later..ok cool! And I love all the pics of them playing and all.

Strats and "Road" solid-state amps, at least live.

Probably SF Fenders in the studio.

In his later career I believed he used them a lot more.

I guess in their early days and judging by the pics, they didn't use a lot of effect/guitar pedals. They just used their guitars and the amps on clean. And maybe all the flange and phase they used on songs like "Found a Job", "Girls want to be with the girls" was also on the amp.
