What replaced your desert island Blackface?

Where did you go after finding a keeper Blackface? I have one that is truly awesome. Just wondering. Never say never and all that.

I can take or leave a second 'drive' channel by the way.

If you found your desert island blackface amp, why not stick with it? If you feel compelled to get another amp, try something in the tweed or Vox camp.

I have a BF VLR since the 60's, I switched to a BF VLR! Crazy ay!I have 11 amps and always gravitate back to the Vibrolux Reverbs. Although I have a Laney Lionheart 5 watter that I use around here so I don't bug people. My 1970 Twin, VibroVerb ri, 53 tweed, 40's Orpheum, 70s Champ, Blues Junior, and others don't get used much anymore.

Oh ya and I have been toying with the idea of getting a Samamp 23. But it does not have a reverb.

The Carr Viceroy replaced the need for two blackface amps in my rig. (Fender Deluxe Reverb & Fender Pro Reverb) It can also respectably stand in for a Low Power Tweed Twin, and can be made to break-up in a Tweed Deluxe kind of way. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; The Carr Viceroy is the best Fender that Fender never made.

I also add that it's compact too... The 1x12 model is slightly smaller than a BF Deluxe Reverb, and weighs in at 45 lbs.

I had the sweetest BFSR which is still greatly missed. However, an Allen Encore head has brought back blackface with extras. So I'm not thinking about that Super too much.

Yeah, if it matters I have a beat up 66 Vibrolux Reverb. Pretty much all original except electrolytic caps and Jensen speakers just being reconed.

The usual suspects mentioned already. I really should go and try some of those.

For my needs, I haven't found anything
better than my BF Vibrolux Reverb
and BF Deluxe Reverb.

I went from my vr to a Marshall Lead&Bass and an Avatar 1x12 Greenback. I still miss the vr but I love the marshall so...

'68 VR (exact BF circuit) - easily the best Fender amp I've had. Traded it for a Victoria 20112 that was a week old. Also a great amp, but still a dumb trade. That eventually became a Magic Brit which decreases the hurt A LOT. I still wish I had the VR though....it's in a local recording studio and the owner will not sell it back to me . But, I'd still take the Brit over it, to be honest.

Nothing yet! Though life is short and I'm NOT sworn to amp monogamy.

Had the time of my life with this rig last night, country and rock covers. All bases covered.
