Classic rock is the '60's. You had The Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Cream, Doors, Grateful Dead, Janis, The Band, CCR, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, Dylan, Zeppelin, The Who, Johnny Winter, Everybody at Motown, hell everybody at Woodstock! In the '70's you had Disco! Just kidding you man, it's all good!

For me, its the 90's: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr, Afghan Whigs. Some of my favorite bands ruled this decade.

This. I could have written this myself.

Actually, I too would've chosen mid 1960s through mid 1970s if that was an option. But since it wasn't, I chose 1970s because I like late 1970s music better than early 1960s music.

My next favorite would be early 1980s and then early 1990s after that. I haven't cared much for anything after that.

I voted for the 70's, though I also thought the early 90's were great as well.

Hmmm, let's see:

Machine Head
Toys in the Attic
Gasoline Alley
Physical Graffiti
Exile on Main St.
Live at Budokon
Highway to Hell
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Yeah, that's pretty much a short list of why the 70's ruled rock. I'm sure there's more.

I picked a decade that doesn't really cover the whole of my influence but it was the wild youth decade. I would pick the 60's and 80's next
