Should I trade my AC 15 for.....

Would you trade/sell a Chinese made AC15 for, say a pro junior?

Here's my reason for asking. I have just traded a few things out for a Dr Z Mazjr. Love it. I have an AC15 that I have used a lot in my buddies basement. He has moved, so it is back in my basement. I don't practice at home, so i am going to be moving it around a bit.

It's almost 50 lbs. The pro junior has el84s, takes pedals almost as well and is 20 lbs. Thoughts? Just need a good rehearsal amp, thats not expensive that I won't have to worry about if it gets beat up moving around. Has to take pedals well

Thanks

any decent 1x12 combo is going to weigh as much as an AC15.....
Stick with it unless you want something really small like a 1x8 Pathfinder..

..or not, it's up to you...

Stick with the VOX.. Just cause it has el84's does not mean it sounds the same..

Depends on the situation - I found that the Pro Jr is really on that line of not being quite loud enough sometimes depending on how loud the drummer is and whether there is a bass player in the mix. Would you consider the Blues Jr too heavy at 31 lbs? Personally, I think that's a more fair trade.

wise choice! still don't understand all the fuss people make over the weight of amplifiers, isn't tone what it's all about?

If you're going for a worthwhile upgrade in a Vox voiced amp,
The Magic Amps Britt MKII is where I would put my money.

The Morgans and Hayseeds seem to be popular too.

Bad Cat Black Cat or Divided By 13 RSA 31 or Matchless
for superb build and tone quality in an AC30 voiced circuit.

If you want a Fender voiced lower powered, small club
amp, I'd look at the Gries 20 or Allen Sweet Spot.

Upgrade to 35 watts if you want more clean headroom.
