Somerville, Massachusetts
What with Tropical Storm Irene about to clobber us, I have no intention of going outside at all today, so I'll be online til my eyeballs fall out.
I figured it'd be a decent time to see if any of my fellow TGPers have any connections to my hometown of Somerville, MA. Anybody? Lived/live here? Work here? Visit here to go to Leone's to get the best pizza & subs on earth? |

No ties but I'm game to try Leone's next time I'm up there.

Good stuff, man. It's Sicilian pan pizza, so either you automatically love it or hate it.
What part of the state are you from? |

South Dartmouth. I'm up there quite a few times per year to visit a friend in Winchester or Mouradian's.

I used to live in Boston and wanted to give a shout out to one of my favorite BBQ joints - Redbones in Somerville, MA! I'm actually wearing my Redbones hat this morning!

I go to Leone's at least twice a week. Count me as loving it.

Spent my first 37 years in Methuen, MA. Hung out in Somerville often. Might have even played a few gigs down there in the late 70s early 80s.
If you were around back then does the band name "Trilogy" ring a bell? |

Used to live in Malden, but gigged at Club 3 more times than I remember. Also had some friends I used to party with regularly up on of Winter Hill. Good times.

Grew up in and around Boston, lived in Summahvill (near Porter Square) for almost 10 years in the 90's.
BigAl - Yeah! Redbones! The last time I ate there was when I went to see Junior Brown at Johnny Ds a few years ago.

I lived in Arlington for 5 years from '92-'97.
My girlfriend at the time lived in Somerville. I took the T through there everyday. I played Club 3 quite a few times. I love Redbones.

Angelina's does indeed have good subs, as well as White Sport. I'm surprised you wouldn't remember Leone's unless you didn't frequent that part of Somerville. They've been in the same location for over 60 years now, 292 Broadway. Across the street from the old Star Market, which has been closed for almost 4 years now. I'm definitely down for a TGP Leone's session! |

I lived there for 2 years, cambridge, brighton.. my girlfriend worked in the same building as the sommerville theater so I used to get comp tickets to so many shows. I snuck in to a few as well being familiar with the layout on bored nights when I'd work at her office as well.
I used to sit in at the acoustic open mic at that irish bar across the street from joshua tree. red bones was ok to go to. I lived up near lowell st near the hospital. I wonder if they ever fixed the big sign that was missing a letter out of "hospital"... |
