Temple Of The Dog - Live last night

Here ya go TGP. Looks like Mike is rocking a 65 and a Satellite, that's new for him. Stone replaced his Vox with a Savage (probably a Glas 30)

cheers

Know if this was this a one off or one song as part of a PJ show?

Is it just me or is he only singing with his head voice most of the song? He seems to have no omph behind it. I am not saying bad. He is in tune and it sounds right just not quite the same amount of power I am used to hearing on this song.

I remember I bought this disc as a metalhead based solely on the review in Circus magazine. I had heard of Soundgarden but had really not heard much. Never heard of Andrew or Mother Love Bone. This disc totally started my turn away from metal to different styles of music. I love most of the songs on here.

Part of the PJ20th anniversary show. Last night and tonight. Looks like they played one Mother Love Bone song with Cornell singing, then 3 Temple songs with Chris. Ed Ved, Liam Finn and Glen Hansard singing background there.....

cheers

Wow... with Finn & Hansard too? That's pretty interesting group of folks onstage.

Ya, watch anything live Cornell from at least the last 6-7 years, that's been the case. Pretty much blew himself out either just before or early on in the years with (WTH, I'm getting old and forgetfull, the band with Morello). He actually sounds really good here but as you say, no power....if he goes for the big power notes or screams in the clips I've seen, he gets thin and raspy very quickly.

Still easily (by miles) the best rock singer of his generation in my books.

sounds great I want to go back to that time , I was too young 11 or 12 to really appreciate it when it came out. But looking back now

Audioslave and I agree, seems like he did his vocal chords in after their run. I saw Audioslave in '03 and his voice still had that Cornell power, that Jesus Christ Pose power man. Saw some vid footage of Soundgarden reunion shows and although he still has a great voice, that power is gone.

I correlate it to Jon Bon Jovi, just listen to the album cut of Livin on a Prayer and how they've played it the past few years. The highs are gone. Sambora can still hit them but JBJ can't.
