Guthrie Govan tones in a pedal

Does anyone have any recommendations? I know he's using Suhr Shiba drive now to boost his amp and used to use a Zendrive, I already have a Zendrive, but I want a pedal to replicate his amp tones if possible. Cornfords are beasty things.

The Riot in to a clean amp will do it nicely, Guthrie loves that pedal as well when he is in that situation.

Thanks John I was actually considering that pedal. I'll have to get up to Tone Merchants soon and test it out.

+1 on the suhr shiba. i love mine for low gain crunch(with strat w/suhr FL standards...which surprisingly sound better with teh shiba that any other pickups...consipiracy?) but also boosted with timmy AND using it to boost an amps gain channel with buckers.

but it think you'll find its a lot harder to obtain guthries tone/sound just from purchasing gear...

sigh...if only money could buy skills...

Yeah he has some crazy hands. I just like how articulate and almost angry sounding his leads are. But still warm and full.

To my ears it's a combination of his mahogany guitar with fat medium output humbuckers into a boosted 'vintage' voiced amp set crunchy. Fat mids but biting treble.

Was that supposed to be a picture of an iPod? I'm going to have to try the Riot soon. I have a Boogie Mark IIC+ and it's almost there but a little too compressed for Govan tones. Even with the presence all the way up.

There used to be a video of Guthrie somewhere where he gave an hour long lesson and he used the Riot most the time. Don't remember which site had it though.
