I was there yesterday. In Hamburg, Germany. My office is next doors and I took an hour off to see the demo.

Please let me clarify:

The YT clip is NOT a real amp, it was an already tweaked profile out of the Kemper. If the Kemper-crews says it was a Roadking, then what the heck is doubtful about that? It was played through a little PA. No real amp involved. Just the hands of a great player into the KPA.

The Boogies were there because there was a Mesa-Boogie/PRS clinic just before the Kemper-demo started. And yes, the Kemper crew did a quick profile demo of the miked amp, the Royal Atlantic or whatever it is called. Which btw. didn´t work out in the beginning due to a lot of noise around. The circumstances were less than ideal. I was there, I saw it, I heard it, by the end of the demo I was floored ij the best possible way. Period!

Man, what is happening in this forum? Some people should really try to get a life. Some things that are written here are just sick. Plain and simple......

Did they showcase any new features or do some Q&A?

(whispering) Folks are taking a member with the name of "Banned User" at his word when he just might be stirring the pot for fun as he does on many other threads. His name might be a clue he's not being completely forthcoming or serious with every post... just sayin'...

i find some posts here kind of funny..why in the world would Kemper try to fake people in to believing it was the sound of the Kemper in the videos, if it wasn't? They're smart people, they know we're going to buy the product and we'll know if they were lying or not, and most stores have a return policy as far as I know, and also while a good player can make any decent amp sound sound great, I think in all the videos I've seen, you can tell, if even the player isn't the best, the basic sound of the amp they profile is there.

Wow, that's pretty strange.

Scott, if you know that to be true, please consider this a formal request to moderate that type of behavior. Life is too short to waste people's time here if you think there is someone specifically "stirring the pot".

This is the inherent problem with show-cases by elite players. The same rationale applys to the latest Kemper videos.
So if Fender wants to do a demo vid of a Frontman 10G, they should get my 6 year old nephew to do it so they don't demoralize the other noobs who are the sales target? I like pros doing demoes because that lets me know the upper limit of a piece of equipment. I'm intelligent enough to figure out I'm not going to sound as good as them. I love the vids Greg V does for this reason.

it seems that many men get upset over modelers, I don't and I am looking forward to the Kemper and I am very filled with eagerness to hear what those men from Hamburg have to say about it.

This is what I've been waiting for all along. Effectively crossing out the "learning"-part.
OK, this I understand and can respect.

Cheers,

I will, once I get the Kemper.

This is the mesa video I was talking about before. No fancy guitar playing abilities... just a very convincing heavy mesa tone.

I'm not really familiar with Mesa's, do they really sound that bad?

Michael Elsner's take on the Kemper and the responses he has met.

Seems a real alternative.

I think the simpler playing really helps you to concentrate on the amps tones. You don't need a "bad" player, just one who's performance doesn't overshadow the amp.

I heard some bottom end in this clip that was noticeably absent from the other clips I heard. Hello.

I also liked the position indicators on the main knobs...very easy to read even on a dark stage.

The whole thing looks cool...like it would be right at home in the lounge of the original Star Trek series.

I'd love to try one out.

I already made up my mind that I will be getting one of these. As I stated in another thread, I have yet to hear a clip of this thing that sounds like a modeler even if it may have been a tone I didn't care for, it doesn't have that fake digital plastic layer on the top. I can just imagine all the fun a man can have by spending a day at another male's home or studio who owns a vast collection of vintage amplifiers, profiling all day long into the wee hours of the darkness. I think this device may end up pleasing many men.
