Well, you should know.

Good luck with the sale (we can't convince you to keep it, can we? ).

Haha, I saw that and was seriously considering buying it--but I really like the way maple plays over rosewood!

Is the tone pretty consistant over all the eras in the slingshots history? Like did the body thickness change things considerably, or any of the other differences in the years?

Zak - no. I use my own name on all my eBay and forum dealings. My "new" Goblin should be delivered today and will be getting a workout with my son's band (Studio 13) later tonight. If it does what Joe says, my KS might be heading to the auction block. The KS is good but has too much overlap with my Bassman combo

I think I came to the right place...

First it was a Drivetrain, then a Kingsnake, and a couple of Slingshots later I'm bitten with the Rev jones. So here's a question - I'm thinking about converting one of my SS's into a Wolfman. Anybody have any luck with TV Jones pickups?

Okay. I'm okay now. I got that out of my system. I can resist.

And, Martyn, I thought you used your name on eBay, I just didn't realize there were two amps like that. Besides, I know you wouldn't price gouge like that, and you'd let the Congregation in on it pre-gouging.

That is a nice slingshot and a great price. I bought a used wolfman on the emporium about 4 months ago very similar and paid just under $1000 shipped. The only thing I hate about the reverends are the frets... otherwise great unique guitars.

Why do you hate the frets?

I'm curious as to what's not to like about the frets too. I guess some folks like the vintage styled frets. IMHO, the US line hits all the marks for what I'm looking for in a guitar.

As for that Slingshot on the Emporium - hard to beat something that cool. I guess it could have a Bugeye finish!

Zak - my Goblin Deluxe is unique. The other one has the "thick" mod on a std Goblin but not the other mods (no schizo, no 5/15 switch, no presence, no standby, prototype cosmetics). It arrived last night but I didn't get to unpack it before my son's band arrived. Much fun with 13 year olds...and yes, Reverend amps do sound great playing Green Day and AC/DC.

Actually I am way more of a lead player then a chord guy. When I play, the majority of the time its exercising solo stuff. The frets on the revered are way to low! Fine for chords but for bends they suck. I like big jumbo frets. Either 6105 or 6100's anything else I have trouble bending on. I didn't think it would be a big deal when I bought it but after 10 min of playing it I realized it aint never gonna work. Its a beauty to look at with the silver aluminum top and I like the pickups as well but the frets..... The neck is a little thin also but not that big of a deal. I may end up refretting it but I hate spending money on stuff like that especially when the frets are new.

Carbz - I never thought I hear anyone say that Reverends necks and frets are too small. What have you found that does work for you?

If you have to have 6100s, Rev frets will be too small as will be the frets on virtually every other production guitar. 6105s are pretty tall, too, though narrow, I refretted my Hagstrom Viking I with those and dig 'em on that particular guitar as the neck is quite thin. I don't like 6100s, it makes it feel like the neck is scalloped. Most of us are fine with the old standard 6130 (and the more modern 6150, called by some a jumbo but to me they're closer to medium jumbo) medium jumbos and so are quite happy with the stock Rev frets that are considerably beefier than Fender vintage-style frets (6230).
