That's what I'm thinking, too.

Ok Jon, Martyn, Bugeye, guys & girls, answer a question for me. Did the Bugeye finish come in Black and Chrome? I've only seen pictures as of today, but I just got a Slingshot in and it looks Chrome. Thx

Mine is chrome as well but looks black under certain light. Like you, I've heard references to black bugeye chrome but never seen one.

Joe/Eric - are you out there?

Thanks Martyn,
I've rounded up 6 Rev in the last few weeks, so pics coming later today. I'm probably going to keep the 4 Metal tops and sell the other 2. Then just keep looking for a Engine Turn, Hot Rod Flame, and a Hawaiian. But its going to be hard to sell any!

Yes, I'd say that hanging on to the metal tops would be a very smart move. Just out of interest, now that you've played 6 Revs, what do you think of them as guitars? any favorite model? any strong dislikes? etc

Well,
Four have Eastpointe neck and two have the newer necks. And, four have p-90's and two are Roccos. I like all the sound variation in the Rocco.
The Rick Vito P-90 pu's are wound hotter and is the only one I have with the bass roll-off. I like the sound alot, but the guitar is pretty heavy. Way heavier than the rest?? I newer necks don't seem to have the broken-in feel as the Eastpointes.
Hopefully I can find a couple versions of the metal tops with different pickup combos than I already have. I'd like to have/try a Hitman or Spy with a Bigsby.
I love the whole vibe and construction. I'll get some pictures(hopefully tonight) posted.
Did I get my point accross? I love'em!!
If anyone wants to do some trading, I have a Sling Shot Custom w/Bigsby in Firefly Green and a Sling Shot in the Faux Quilted Maple finish. Looking for the Hawaiian, Engine Turn or Hot Rod Flame finish. Or maybe a Rickhide.

Nice score on the bugeye Slingshot - I was watching that one originally! As far as I know, there was only one color, the kind of 'smoked' chrome that you have.

The one metal top finish that I'd love to find is the 'corrugated' aluminum top they made early on....I've only seen 2, and the last one I saw was at least 3 or 4 years ago. I can't even find a picture of one anymore - the closest thing I can find is the finish on the Jackson Roswell Rhodes. Here's that one for comparison; as I recall, the Reverend finish was just a bit 'ridgier' than the Jackson:

That's the one! I wonder if they ever made a Slingshot in that finish?

Thumbs up

Blackcat #00103 redux! This early Rev has one of the best necks ever but I never really cared for the bridge bumbucker. I picked up a used Rocco pg from Reverend and added GFS hb sized P90s. The electronics were also replaced with upgraded pots, switch and jack.
