Special to Crazyquilt: for "glorious cleans," lower the PUPs on a SSC to between flush with the pickguard and a quarter inch above it .

That's about where mine are, maybe slightly -- very slightly -- higher. I'll drop'em down even further & see what happens. As I've said, if not here, then elsewhere (I've lost track of the various Reverend threads...) I believe it's as much a matter of personal taste as anything.

i am all for the custom shop idea. if we're a 'niche market', why not market to the niche?

what's a c shop fender go for these days? i've got to believe there's money to be made here...

something to consider in the used vs. new equation: what if there was no ebay? i haven't got all the angles figured out for myself, but i can say that i'd have two revs instead of five. my case is a special one i know, (at least that's what my doctor tells me anyway...) but can we at least say that the niche filled up quicker because of used instrument sales?

i'm not really up for an argument on the subject since i'm still kind of in denial over this whole thing and trying to come up with some magical answer that will fire up US production again.

again: would anyone be interested in creating a USA reverend owners group? i'm not looking for any specific pledges of support, just interest.

thanks all.

crazyquilt: listened to your desert song while writing this. really interesting stuff, and definitely mood altering.

Thanks, BEF. Mood altering is good.

Played around with my SSC for a while tonight. Messed with the pickup height, and decided that I was just losing too much signal if I put it that low, and it was getting pretty weak.

I seem to remember reading several folks on TGP mentioning stringing their Slingshots with flatwound, so, since I had an extra set laying about, I gave it a whirl. I'm really liking the sound I'm getting now ... which is a great change! The pickups are set to a medium to medium-low height, and, string with flat 11s, it just sounds real nice.

Hey, it's me again.

Just wanted to let you East Coasters know that we just recently decided to display at the Fall Philly guitar show Nov. 12-13. We will have a Vito Standard, and 6 new models from the Stage King series on hand.

C'mon in, see the bearded lady, two-headed man, and the amazing Korean guitar that actually has MOJO!

6 being the Chargers and Flatrocs in the current color combos (e.g. 3x2)? I'll be there for sure.

Actually, it will be revised versions of the Charger 290 and Flatroc, plus 4 new models not yet released.

Does "will have" mean "will have for sale?" Coz that might be enough to get me to Philadelphia. Really wanna get my hands on a Flatroc.

I hadn't planned on going (and still don't think I'll be able to) but I must say, this development has me intrigued. I might have to beg the missus after all!

New models!

After having the Flatroc for a couple of weeks now, I must say that I have really taken to it. Is it different from the USA's? Yes, but it is absolutely worthy of Reverend.

Glad to hear the Flatroc is working out. Sounds like the new Charger/Flatroc will be a bit different, so I guess we own very limited editions (1 of 12)
