It's up on eBay. I don't know - I feel like I'm just keeping the guitar to keep it and that doesn't feel right. I got a chance to open it up at Jon's house over a year ago and really haven't touched it since. It's a wonderful guitar and a very cool piece of Reverend history, but I seem to like owning it for the picture posting/bragging rights and that seems like the wrong reason. Yeah, I'll probably regret selling that one, if it sells, but I just don't feel that I'm a point in my life to justify having guitars sitting in cases in my basement closet for bragging rights. TOTAL personal opinion not meant to attack anyone or sound preachy...pardon the pun on the Reverend Gallery.

I think we all know how you feel on this issue, Mike. My own view is I will now keep only as many guitars as fit easily into my small closet (9 electrics), no more, so as a new one comes in, another must go.

Mike, if you get $1800 or so, you'll be doing well for a guitar you don't play.

Seems like a totally healthy perspective to me! Despite the combination of cool features, I can't see anyone buying this to play and I'm personally still not convinced by the "collectibility" of Reverends. I know some people wouldn't agree but, apart from the very rare models, very few US Revs are selling for more than their original price. Of course, time will tell.

It depends on what "original price" you refer to. There are guys who bought $4-600 USA models that will sell for more. Not the silly amount 70's Fenders go for, but more than original. If you bought a Retro Pro new, yeah you will bet below the original price. Funny too, because I believe the last USAs were the best.

Rondillon, the Ultimate and Hercules stands work great with Reverends. Regular stands work ok, but the guitar is a little crooked.

If you prefer slender necks (characterized accurately by the guy who wrote the '02 Slingshot review as "Cons: neck may be too skinny for some players") I suppose you could take this position.

Anyone? My Fender mini stand isn't doing a good job due to the Rev's body shape. You guys using an Ultimate stand?

Yes, understood. I was meaning the new price i.e. $700+.

Hey, Jon--just a gentle reminder as you pawn off the S-Hitman--I've been lurking here for over a year now and posting here and there. I seem to recall reading several variations on this common theme of yours in that time. I'm just sayin'! Good luck on the sale, though.

Another Rocco Conversion

So I finally got around to putting my Rev. Humbuckers into my SSC last night. I've had the pickups loaded into the pickguard for about 6 monthes, but no time/ parts to finish the wiring etc....
This weekend I came across a 5-way blade switch that (allegedly) replicates the PRS 5 way rotary switch and figured I'd give it a try. I've never played a PRS with the 5 way switch, but on my Rocco-nversion, these are the settings: 1=Bridge pickup 2=Inner pickup coils, parallel 3=Outer coils, series 4=Outer coils, parallel 5=Neck pickup. I only played it a little bit last night after I finished but I'm bringing it to band practice tonight to see If I'll keep them in or not.
Anybody tried anything like this or have experience with the PRS 5 way tones? Last night I was feeling like 2 and 4 were real similar sounding, but I was playing at low volumes. 1, 3 and 5 were very different and useable as far as I can tell.
One things for sure, they're way quieter than the P 90s. When I first plugged it in I thought I did something wrong because no sound came out of my amp until I started playing...

I posted this above, but it must have been lost in the other subject:
