Stereo Rig question?

Is it possible to run my stereo delay pedals in stereo if I am using one amp, and if so how would I set it up to work properly?

Two amps are necessary to run in stereo.

Well, if your amp has two inputs, sure.

I've run an entire string of stereo effects together, 3 or 4 different pedals, and run the mono line out of the last pedal into the amp. It doesn't play in "stereo", but the effects are processed differently than if I ran the whole thing as one single mono chain.

either a second guitar amp or a powered PA speaker with something like an H&K Red Box would be necessary. If you want to get into stereo or w/d or w/d/w rigs, thats another can of worms, but worth taking that endeavor IMO.

No, you won't hear the delay sounds in stereo, since when they go into the amp they'll be mixed down in mono, so you'll lose the stereo image.

What you can do though is use the stereo delay pedals to create a parallel effects chain. Use different pedals on each side to process the signals, say a tremolo on one side and a phaser on the other. At the end of the chain they will be blended for the mono signal, but, it will be a different sound to just running the pedals in series.

Well you sort of can if you have an amp like the Roland JC-120. It does in fact have a stereo effects loop. The only problem is that won't sound nearly as wide sounding as two amps and at a gig nobody is really going to notice the difference.

That's the problem I have with my Ampeg cabinet. It's stereo, but the speakers are so close together that they might as well be mono. I'm looking into getting two 2x12s instead, to separate the stereo image.

Well, there once was an amp named Johnson. Who had two twelve in speakers in a combo, and basically a Digitech GSP type preamp that would do stereo. If you close mic'd them, and shoved like a chunk of something in between them, you would get a pretty good stereo field.

What about getting a nice amp and running one line into that and then getting just a big clean power amp like the Fractal Audio Systems one. It wouldn't be perfect but if your running we/dry it might actually be better than the alternatives. It would also be reasonably cheap.
