front. just like how the phase is a little 'lost' in the dirt, as opposed to the full swoosh of the phaser after dirt/ in the loop

I have only recently started using an amp with a loop - prior to this, and after much trial and error I was running the phaser after my dirt pedals.

When I switched over to an amp with a loop I assumed that it would sound best to me in the loop. I persevered with it for a while before coming to the conclusion that I was just kind of over the sound of phaser for the time being.

On a whim I decided to throw it out in front for a quick test and it is now well and truly reinstated. I love what it does to the harmonic content of my overdrive sound.

Just goes to show that you never know until you experiment!

In front, behind my overdrive. That isn't going to change. I didn't like the sound of it after the overdrive, so there's no way that I would like it in the loop, I surmise. Loops are (not exclusively) for delays and reverbs, and chorus if I didn't hate it, for me.

In front of my amps, after the overdrives. Why? Because I think it sounds better, and that is what is important to me!

mine is up front, I go wah > fuzz > filter > phaser > dirt > flanger > tremolo > delay > reverb.

I like having the fuzz before phase if I ever want that intense swirling madness but mostly I prefer the more subtle phasing I get when I put it before my dirt boxes...

In front, before all dirt except the fuzz.
My signal chain is: fuzz > wah > phaser > delay 1 > dirt 1 > dirt 2 > compressor > tremolo > delay 2 > reverb.
I like this way because it sounds more full, "organic" and natural, both with clean tones and overdriven/distorted ones...

I have mine in front of my ODs. I go for that sort of strangled effect Joe Walsh had on 'Hotel California' guitar solo. Almost slushy I guess. It works great for other sounds too.

I like the sound of it before my fuzz, because it makes it go crazy. However, phase sounds good in the loop of my amp, too. If you want more whoosh, try it.

I use mine in my wet signal chain, but I suspect about 1/2 of people use it before dirt.

yeah I guess I've always put it with the filter effects more than the modulation effects, but I guess it's really both!
