No use for a Marshall (used to play one a long time ago), no interest in playing loud, metally-sounding stuff at all... but your clips make me wanna get one of those goddamn things so bad, they always sound awesome...

But I wouldn't expect anything less from rockstah. Seriously.

Yeah, Rockstah's Marshall sound's are probably the best there is IMO. (at least for that mid to higher gain sound). Its a tone that you'd want to hear at a gig.

In this clip, whats the rundown? Typical stuff? Chinese preamp tubes, 6402 greenbacks super distortion with A5 mag?

A real 72 would obviously start closer to that tone, than say, a reissue plexi. As a general rule, as a platform for your mod, is older better?

Killer tones ... and playing... both spot on.

Hey guys,

i have pretty good success with the 70's all the way up through the early 2000's with the mod. you can listen on my soundclick link that all of them pretty much sound the same.

here is a 2003 i just did for example. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...ongID=10889079

Jubileeman, you got it right except the dimarzio has its stock ceramic magnet in it.

jb4674, the clip was at tv level.

thanks all for commenting!

Your guitar/speakers/playing has a big part in all this... but I can easily tell that 2003 just doesn't come close to the depth and chewyness of that '72

Ever thought of working on developing your own personal output transformer? I bet that would be the X-factor in getting those modern marshalls to sound better...

So, allow me to ask an ignorant question....

Could you do a mod like this to say, a class 5 and get it to sound the same?

Sounds killer! Can you do some clips that are not VH inspired? Really curious what this can do with other types of music.
