Need Strap Loks? Try this instead!

Planet Waves straps with integral lock. Works like a charm and the best part is you can get them for under $10 at guitar Center.

Had that on my les paul. It rubs against the finish and leaves scratches

I'm gonna double check. Tried it on my strat and the inner portion didn't even make contact with the guitar body. The inner part is rubberized as well.

I'll report back. You have me wondering now w.r.t. how they work with LP's.

A good, stout leather strap with button holes that fit tightly on the strap buttons is all anyone should ever need (but then, I am Mr Anti StrapLok device of any kind). That and the awareness to see that your strap is not twisted the wrong way on the button when you put on your gtr (see Clapton on The Last Waltz).

I have that strap and while it seemed ingenious I don't like it. The stiff plastic ends change how the guitar hangs...
