You can count me a very happy injectors user. I have to say up front that I am not a vintage single coil guy. I am a PAF humbucker user for the most part. Every few years I would get the itch to try the latest greatest singles noiseless and traditional. Messed with heights, string gauges etc. etc. I almost always loved the clean tones, but most of what I play is over-driven rock type stuff. All the single coils ranged from just not my thing to totally annoying when over-driven (and yes, I reset my amp, used the tone controls, different cap values and types). Standard humbucker sized (as opposed to noiseless singles) singles I liked, but I already have that covered really well.
Got the bug again and decied to try the Injectors. The EQ graphs and output level seemed like it might be something that I would like. I totally dig them. Had them for almost 2 months now and I still really like them. They are still single coil sounding, and have nice chime, but sound good over-driven as well. I do roll the tone control down (I have my strat done with a tone on each of the middle and bridge, none on the neck) just a number of 2 when doing heavier bridge pickup work. They do clean tones great. To me they are about half way between a vintage single coil tone and a single coil sized humbucker. Just for reference I tried a friends guitar with Area 58 and 61 and those are exactly the opposite of what I want in a single coil. Overly bright, thin, and weak for my purposes. Injectors are warmer, hotter (but not too hot) with a much better (or actually present) low end.
Edited this to add:
What Dimarzio calls Creme is pretty much impossible to match. What they call aged white is more along the lines of what most makers of knobs, etc call creme.

Injector is very nice. I just got a Super Distortion S and it's the best rail pickup I have ever heard before. Sounds like a Badass humbucker.

I have a neck Cruiser - pretty close to "strat" tones (I have tried most of the DiMarzio Rails). The Cruiser is the lowest output DM rail- really nice & woody & clear. Not a hyperwound rock pickup- much closer to single coil. I'm going to try the Andy Timmons thing & try a Cruiser Bridge pickup in the neck slot too- a little more bottom and a hair more output.
The Fast Track is also a pretty "stratty" pickup but with more beef & overtones than the Cruiser.
Cool thing about the DiMarzio Rails- they make every flavor of output. Nice rich tones on all. Replaceable covers for color choice too.
I also found the Areas to be thin for my taste- the rails fill things out nicely.
I will try the Injectors sometime- I like DiMarzio a lot.

Are you running 250k or 500k tone pots?

Have a cruiser (bridge) in the neck of one of my guitars. LOVE IT. Sounds beautiful. It´s fatter and a tad darker than a single coil, but still retains some of the bite you can't get with a HB.

I have an injector in the neck of a custom built superstrat. Mahaogony body, maple cap and oiled finish. Sounds sweet, almost violin like at times, I love it....

250 K pots & .022 tone cap with my Cruiser, Fast Track, Pro Track guitar. They are not dull at all with the 250K's.

I just ordered a Virtual VintageŽ 54 Pro (DP408) to use in the middle position. I have Injectors as mentioned in a previous post. I have been doing some research on a good middle pickup to go with them (besides the full Gilbert set with an area 67 in the middle as I don't care for those). I will be getting it in a day or 2 and can make some audio files if you are interested in hearing the complete set.

David McNaught is building me a strat with 3 Injector pickups. I'll post a tone report after I've played some gigs with it.

The injector is probably my favorite "silent" single coil. At least the neck-position version. I haven't heard the bridge version yet.

Here's a clip:

Update on the Cruiser- I got a Cruiser bridge pickup and did install it into the neck slot - a touch fuller bottom and a hair more output than the neck Cruiser. Fantastic neck pickup! Woody, rich, complex, but still very clear & "stratty" but fuller than a single. Great clean or cranked.

MrMunky, My Windows Media Player won't open your clip. Too bad- I'm curious about the Injectors.

Are you still using/liking the Cruiser bridge in the neck?

I've got an HSS Strat that I'm contemplating putting 1 in the neck slot.
