I'm cheap. Gigged a $175.00 rig last night.
Well. Not including the guitar and cab. Ran a used ($75.00) Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classis into the effects return of a Marshall Mosfet 100 head ($100.00). The Twin tube was set to a clean on channel 1 and channel 2 was set for a mid gain and has touch sensitivity like a cranked tube amp and since I can't crank in most places that I play anyway, this actually ended up sounding better than my JCM800 2204 or my AOR50. Plus I had footswitchable clean and crunch. Would be nice if the Twin Tube had seperate EQ for each channel but, I was pleasantly suprised anyway and worked out well. Will be using that rig again.

I dig the sentiment. I'll like to sometimes gig my C.L. finds, $40 Squires, or whatever, along with salvaged tube amp builds/rescues...just because.
[not the O.P. but here's a clip w/ the $85 Saga Strat, $10 Soundtank echo, some other stuff] |
