Crossover Help???

I have been looking a new crossovers and I am getting confused about this 2way or 3 way stereo and 4 way mono and such. Kinda giving a noob a headache. On my current system, I have two PV115 and PV118 foh, and I want to run stereo, what would I need to do it correctly? I will be using two power amps for the tops and bottoms. I also have a dual 31 band eq. How would you guys run this. This is just a budget system, until I get some cash saved up for a powered setup. I would like my highs and mids on the tops and the lows for the subs obviously, but there is a mono output with sweepable Low Pass filter for subwoofer application. Help a noob learn!!

You need a stereo 2 way cross over. Here is your signal path:
L/R main out to Eq. EQ outs to each side of the x over. X/o low output to the sub and High output to the tops.

Set the cross at 100hz to start and adjust from there. A 3 way cross over is for a 3 way system (seperate Subs, mids and tops).

Unless you are a DJ, you might consider running mono. It's less gear and the sound is more uniform throughout the club.

Use the mono output for subs - there's no real reason for subs in stereo, live.
