Your Fave Band, and 5 things you dislike(d) about them.
ZEPPELIN
1. Live solo spots got WAY too long. 2. Plant's golden god stage mannerisms. 3. Plant's ramblings between songs. 4. Letting partying affect their live performances. 5. Gangster like road crew. |

G E N E S I S
1. Phil Collins' solo material is indistinguishable from the band's later output. 2. People dismiss Peter Gabriel's ground-breaking usage of masks, lighting, and stage designs as being "interesting." He invented rock video, in many ways. 3. They really lost their signature sound when they forced Steve Hackett out of the band, not when Peter quit. 4. They could have kept Steve if they weren't total divas, themselves. 5. Many of their really popular songs that made money are some of their absolute worst.

Rolling Stones
1. Their last few albums have a couple of good songs each but that's about it. They've tarnished their legacy by not really giving a f*ck for a long time. 2. Mick is the least introspective writer around. Either his life has become so perfect that there's just nothing to write about, or he has no interest in digging into his psyche to come up with good material. 3. I'm not convinced Keith can really play anymore based on the movie from a couple of years ago. It looks like he has arthritis or something. 4. Mick's stage moves feel forced. 5. Can't think of a fifth. I love them. Edit: Thought of a 5th--Keith's over-reliance on the same Open G riffs. I think he's exhausted that well. |

Since VH has already been done, I'll go with Rush:
1. Move away from instrumental virtuosity in favor of attempting to write more "pop-oriented" forms. 2. Move away from instrumental virtuosity in favor of attempting to write more "pop-oriented" forms. 3. Move away from instrumental virtuosity in favor of attempting to write more "pop-oriented" forms. 4. Alice in Chains
1) The MTV Unplugged recording: The band was simply not at their best. It lacks the energy and spark of other recordings, although it is the final live recorded appearance with Layne 2) The album cover artwork for Black Gives Way to Blue. I think it is cheezy. This is all I can come up with. |

RUSH
1= when Alex went to signature guitars and solid state amps and guitars were overwhelmed by keyboards ( i love songs like Subdivisions. They did use keyboards well. They just didnt need to overpower alexs lines) 2= cant think of anything else.... |

Judas Priest:
1. Most of Turbo 2. Most of Ram it Down 3. Losing Halford for so long 4. Losing KK 5. Relying on the same banter between songs for the last 30 years. Yes, Owens is a good singer and yes Faulkner is a good guitarist but that's not Priest in my opinion. |

All 3 guys have gone on record as saying they regret putting this song out. Terry Brown got fired because he didn't stand up and overrule the band over this track.

How about 5 favorite bands and 5 things I didn't like
![]() 1. Beatles - They always gave Ringo crappy songs to sing .... they could write great songs, why not write one more and let Ringo to something cool? 2. Led Zeppelin - Page's guitar tone kind of stunk, or maybe that was the best they could do back then. 3. Van Halen - Everything after 5150 pretty much stunk, except for pieces of Balance. 4. Aerosmith - They totally sold out and went pop. ![]() 5. Deep Purple - The MKII version (Gillian, Paice, Glover, Lord and Blackmore) ... didn't last nearly long enough.

Why, thank you Sir!
Quote:
These are all dead-on, as well. Sometimes I really wonder if Zeppelin would have been as big as they were without Peter Grant, and Richard Cole. They really did force their way into everything, and resorted to physical violence when other people wouldn't budge. Even Atlantic reissued Zeppelin IV with all of the band info that was never allowed by Page on the original vinyl release. But one thing I have to say about live versions: some of them completely kick the ass of the studio, because they upped the funk groove, and gave them much more power. Usually the shorter live versions are incredible - it's the longer ones that meander, forever.
