Neutrik plugs

Wow ! These are really a pain in the arse to solder !

I can somehow manage the straight ones but the right angled ones ground soldering point is just too much...Is there any trick to do it easily ? It's so small !

I just picked up some right angle plugs as I'm revamping my pedalboard.

What works for me is flowing a blob of solder on the ground tab first. Then, I can put the cable braid on the tab and hold the iron to it. The blob will re-flow and viola, the connection is made.

That's the trick Marty. I use 'em all the time. MegaMan like Marty says, also be sure the iron's tip is clean and the shield is tinned.

Can this method work with the conductor as well ?

I usually use G&H so I don't tin the shield...I'll give it a shot.

It's called tinning, and you should tin all your contacts before soldering them together.

What about that clear nylon on the plug ? Leave that - it there to prevent cap from shorting to conductor
