the "best of" nashville issue of a local paper comes out tomorrow so I'll post that later

-the flying saucer is the best bar in town
-other bars and venues are: the end, 12th and porter, exit/in, mercy lounge/cannery ballroom, the villager tavern, the springwater, the 5 spot, foobar, and cafe coco has beer
-for coffee go to fido, bongo java, the frothy monkey, cafe coco (24 hrs) or marche
-the best restaurants are: P.M., jamaciaway, bobbies dairy dip, monells, arnolds, the pfunky griddle, baja burrito, princes hot chicken, the wild cow (vegan/veg), marche, the melting pot, jenis ice cream (you will NOT get better ice cream anywhere else) and las paletas (gourmet popsicles).
-Gruhn is great for vintage and used guitars, and has a decent selection of amps
-Rock Block Guitars has the best selection of pedals in town, an alright guitar selection, and a great lineup of amps
-Third Man Records is the label, studio, venue, and record store of jack white.

not that long ago I would have told you to check out these guys for like $5 at a house show (there's a big house show circuit for that kind of music) but they were signed with WB, backed Insane Clown Possee recently, and just got booked on Jimmy Fallon for this month
http://www.myspace.com/jeffthebrotherhood

if they have any shows while you're here check them out

this hardly gets the song across, but it gets across how crazy those basement shows were

Burger Up for a kick ass burger

Flying Saucer at Union Station is awesome...so many beers!!!!!!

Baja Burrito in Berry Hill by Guitar Center

Cafe Coco is an awesome chill hideout

Rock Block Guitars is fantastic.

Exit/In, 12th & Porter, and the Rutledge for some live music that is a bit different than the Broadway scene.

Have fun!

I'd try to catch Jack Pearson if he's playing anywhere around at that timeframe.
