Ampeg 410HLF Grill Clean + Paint
Hi guys. Been looking on the webs for many months to try and find an answer, but to no avail.
I've got an Ampeg 410HLF pictured below: ![]() I'd like to do two things, but the second is dependent on the first. 1. Cleaning the damn grill; I can take it off easily enough, as it's just velcroed on. It's covered with dirt, beer and cat piss (damn drunk cats) and I just don't know what I can clean it with. It's really fine but tough black plastic, not cloth at all. Tried just water, toothbrushes... The grime just gets stuck in this cross-stitch mesh and i can't wipe it out! Haha, not the most glamorous thing in the world... Any tricks? 2. Spray painting the grill; Since this plastic is so fine, I think it'd need some pretty special spray paint to do this. Most sites that have info on this have demonstrations and instructions for cloth grills, but as seen before, this cab is different. Anyone know how/what to do? Thanks heaps guys, appreciated. |

Have you tried laundry detergent and hosing it off outside? How about a power washer?

Simple Green works great for cleaning all the crud off.

If you get frustrated and want to start from scratch perhaps this could be of assistance:

Good stuff I'm trying to do the same thing to a bogner I just bought. Looks like a frat house used it as a party favor
