Brian Alex (football) recovering from heart attack

A fellow TGP'er, Brian Alex (football) is recovering from a heart attack.

I've just started to get to know Brian in the last couple of weeks, and he's a great guy and an awesome player.

Please send him your best thoughts and prayers for a quick and complete recovery!

Here's a sampling of some of his music:

Oh jeez... this is a surprise. Thank you very very much for the well wishes. Very nice :-)

Ok, so… I had a heart attack. 95% clogged artery. Hospital did some balloon thingies and put in a stent to relieve it. Unfortunately I also have Diffuse Disease (never even heard of that) which they say means the other arteries also have this same plaque as well and I have to do some things to try and prevent them from getting as clogged as that one.

The heart attack shocked the living shite out of me to say the least. Was onstage with Entrain playing in Sunday River Maine this past Saturday when it happened. I've also had Lyme Disease for a couple months or so as well and have been incredibly run down from that and hadn't been sleeping near enough… but didn't expect anything like this.

What lead to this at 44 years old???… who knows… it's been a SUPER stressful few years and I haven't managed that stress well at all… I haven't been sleeping near enough for a long time… my dad has four stents, some of my uncles had heart disease as well, etc…

Really have to make important life changes or I'd be in big trouble in a hurry. Knew I had to do that in the past but never made the changes before.

Said on the day of the heart attack (and the day before) that something is about to happen, something's got to give. Was totally burning the candle at both ends between studio work and gigs for the last few weeks. I said to my drummer it would likely show up as a cold or a flu and hoped I'd maintain my voice because of an important song and performance that needed to happen this week. Still not sure I'll get that stuff done but sure hope to.

Lots of mixed emotions… concerning/overwhelming and depressing come to mind. Hopefully I get this under control with the meds, diet, exercise, lower stress, sleep more… etc… Definitely making life changes immediately. I know this stuff has happened to tons of people that have recovered and gone on to feel great.

Feel like total a*s at the moment however. Smallest things make my tired as hell.

As I regain strength I'm hoping I'll be able to de-stress once again with the endless mind numbing Kemper/Axe Fx debates here.

Thank you again.

Brian,

Great to hear from you.

It sounds like you're on the right track.

Just take it easy and get your health back and everything else will take care of itself.

Pretty scary, though. I'm really glad you're getting better.
